Pre Arrival Information

Please arrive in good time for your booked sauna session, we take no responsibility for late arrivals, all booking times much be adhered to.

If arriving by vehicle please park on the left ( unpaved ) side of Shiskine Golf Course / Beach car park. Please DO NOT attempt to drive along the private gravel track through the golf course.

The Green Goddess Sauna is located a short 5 minute walk ( 400m) along the main Blackwaterfoot beach from the Golf course car park or around 15 minutes ( 1km ) from the center of Blackwaterfoot village.

Please bring appropriate swimwear, a bathing towel, a small towel to sit on in the sauna., and a water bottle with drinking water.

Getting changed must be within your booked time slot, if you'd like to use the changing room.  Arriving already wearing swimwear saves you time on arrival.

All persons using the Whisky barrels or Ocean as a 'cold plunge' do so at their own risk.

It is your own responsibility to ensure that you are a capable swimmer and can handle being exposed to the cold temperatures and varying conditions of the sea.
A couple of minutes cold water immersion should be sufficient for the benefits of hot & cold therapy. If you have been immersed in cold water for more than 10 minutes (shorter for some) we advise that you do not enter the sauna right away as this could cause dizziness and even fainting.  Longer swims require slow natural warming up and a sauna is not recommended.

Sauna etiquette must be adhered to at all times. This includes;

Washing feet in the provided foot bath before entering the sauna.

Sitting on a towel at all times

Staying in the sauna for no longer than 15 min at a time (we recommend 5-15 min sessions)

Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of fresh water.

Gently pouring only water the Sauna Water onto the sauna stove; drizzle, don't dump water.

Be aware of potential slippery surfaces on entry steps and inside the Sauna -no running.

If you are making a booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make sure your group is aware of the terms and conditions and to practice safe sauna use.
